Thought I should post an update from my appointment on Wednesday. (I switched it from Tuesday because I went to a La Leche League meeting... I love them!) So anyways, my appointment went well. First the nurse tried to tell me I was 30 pounds heavier than I am- ouch! Thank goodness I argued with her about it!!
My BP was good (it's always low), only gained 1 pound, appt. was good. Baby is definitely head down and very head down. Heart beat was in the 130s. I still measure small but am certainly getting bigger!! And I am still only 1 cm dilated.
My midwife did give a few suggestions for helping things progress... and we talked about induction just in case. So if he's not here by Oct. 12 we will do something about it then.
Otherwise, 6 days till the due date, which is making me very anxious!!
Speaking of babies, found out my brother and my new sister in law are expecting!! Cool, Owen will have a same-age cousin!!
I went out for lunch today with my best friend Pam and her mom, too. It was so nice! So nice to see her... we don't get to see each other much at all anymore. And the food was good too! Pam gave me some really sweet baby clothes and a cute cow rattle, and her mom made the baby a really sweet fleece blanket! It is great!!
Kids are doing well... school is going great, they are getting back into the swing of things. I love all of their teachers and am very hopeful that they will each have a great year!
Samantha is being challenged with the work this year, which is a bit of an adjustment for her but I know she will come through on top as always! She joined Builder's Club (Kiwanis for younger people) and ran for secretary...she finds out today if she got it. I'm thinking she has a good chance because she said she was only running against the chalkboard!!
Will has a great teacher too, a guy which I think is really good for him. And he actually WANTS to do his homework this year, which is such a nice change! He's so smart, and I think he's realizing that it's not as hard as he always thought it was.
Colby has been having some issues on the playground... been dealing with bullies. Ugh. I was thankful to hear Colby say that he is "protecting the girls". So cute!! I've already talked with other parents, and the principal, so hopefully it will stop.
I just have to say this: 3 months till Christmas! And here my plan was to have all my shopping done before the baby was born. I think I've bought maybe 5 things. Fa la la!!
Happy Happy Friday!

Maternity Pics
We had my sister take some maternity pics today. I am officially 38 w, 2 d pregnant. We ended up taking over 240 pictures! These are just a couple of my favorite ones.
We're not sure what happened with the lighting in this first picture, but I LOVE it!!! I love how the light is shining right on my belly. Baby is already in the spotlight!
A family pic, of course! I love how Sam and Will are looking at my belly.
And let me tell you, it was VERY hard to get back up!!
I took individual pics with each child... and this one I just love!!
Things are going well with us. Baby is moving lots and lots. And with not much room, and a big baby, I can feel everything!! I still have lots of heartburn and indigestion. I was hoping to not have to refill my zantac prescription again, much I just might have to. I literally drink it right from the bottle a few times a day.
Note to self: No more banana splits from Friendly's. (They keep me up all night.)
I go see my midwife on Wednesday. Until then, I'm thinking the baby won't come any time soon.
Art says he CANNOT come tonight or tomorrow... because he has a group of guys set up to go 4-wheeling and he doesn't get to do that too often. SO... if I go into labor, I'll be all alone....
Boys had bowling today, another good day. Colby is doing great, he got a few spares today!! And Will did AWESOME! He bowled a 130! Wow! His average today was 87 but I'm sure it will be higher next week.
And Samantha had travel softball tryouts. She did great. She was one of only a couple of girls who hit all the balls that were pitched to them (from a machine). She did great all around, and it was great to see other girls she knows. We're really hoping she makes the "B" team and not the "A" team... but I have a feeling her two good friends Michelle (the awesome pitcher) and Melena (the awesome catcher) might go to the "A" team.
Tomorrow Samantha's fall ball team has two games, and the first is at 8 am!! Oy!! And did I mention, Art is going 4-wheeling so I am on my own??? Lovely. She has another game at 12. Hopefully they win this time.
HAPPY SATURDAY!!!

Is it Wednesday already??
Sorry I haven't updated in over a week.
This is a picture of the backyard... it's our view from the new deck! It's funny how the view changes when you're a little higher up. And it's a clear view, unlike the deck off of our bedroom, which has apple tree branches all around it!
Things are going well. Had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Didn't gain any weight last week, which is a nice surprise! Especially considering the baby surely did. He is still head down. One thing that stinks though is that I tested positive last week for Group B Strep, which means I'll have to have antibiotics during the birth, through an IV. I HATE IVs so this upsets me. But of course if it could hurt the baby I will surely do it. I was so flustered at the appt. that I didn't even ask how much the heart rate was or anything. She did mention I was measuring at 35 weeks... and I'm almost 38... no big deal, I'm just small... how did that happen? We were looking at pictures yesterday from when I was pregnant with Colby... 40 days before he was born... and I was HUGE! Maybe this baby won't be so big after all?
I ordered a carseat and it came yesterday. It's really nice! Except I can't figure out how to get the seat out of the base. Uh oh. I'll have to have Art look at it.

My boys! They caught a huge moth and carried it around almost all day, last week. Will put it in the gecko cage and the gecko tried to eat it... which Colby did not like AT ALL. Poor buddy! We had to rescue him out of there, and then we let him go.
Big news: We bought a "new" van yesterday. It's a 2002 Chevy Astro Van. I like it because it is an 8 passenger. Art likes it because it's a Chevy and in awesome shape. The kids love it because it's big, and they have their own radio. We pick it up tonight if all goes well.
Happy Hump Day!

Update again!
Went to the doctor yesterday. Had an ultrasound and here is the picture I got. Isn't it cute? You can see his face, his cheek (lookin' chubby aren't they?) and his hand-- he must have been waving to me! The good news is he is HEAD DOWN so not breech anymore. That is really fabulous news because I do not want to have a C-section. Now that he is head down, chances of him flipping back are pretty small. Although it can happen, so the dr. said they would check when I go into labor. Which, will be in the next 4 weeks... ack!
Baby measured at 6 lb. 10 oz, which is about 10 oz. bigger than one site I looked on. I guess I should just accept the fact that I'm most likely going to have another big baby. Heartrate was about 127, which is good... it was about the same two weeks ago.
I myself gained 4 pounds in 2 weeks... OMG! But it's okay, so far it's all in my belly. At least that's what Art keeps telling me. Think he's just being nice? :-)
Tomorrow I am 37 weeks and well, 38 weeks is considered full term so we are really close now!!!
In other news... kids are doing great at school. Will is really enjoying his teacher, and the kids in his class. Sam is doing well too, although she has decided not to play saxophone anymore and we are dealing with that issue. Colby is doing well... tomorrow night is 2nd grade parents night. I can't go so Art will go and hopefully let me know all the info!!
Tonight we sign the kids up for basketball again. Will decided last night that "okay"- he'll do it. I can't really say no when the other two are doing it, can I? And I'm already dreading the season-- three kids, on three different schedules... with a baby to haul around! Oh well, what's the fun of having kids if you can't do all this fun stuff??
Speaking of all this fun stuff... bowling started last Saturday. Will AND Colby are bowling now. Will of course did great, scored a 110! He is one point less than the kid on his team with the highest average, so he's trying to move up! And Colby did great too. His coach was very impressed... Colby scored a 40 and a 53. Most kids on their first day score around a 10. And one did. Colby had fun so that's all that matters really.
And fall ball is in full swing! (That's fall softball). Samantha is once again on a purple team - much to her dismay. But she did get her number 11 jersey! And she has a few friends on her team which is very nice. Unfortunately, all their games on Sunday... mornings. Which interferes with Sunday school and church. But we will make do and get creative.
I'm going scrapbooking this Saturday with my friend Raye! I'm so excited! It's a yearly crop we go to out in Chicopee, MA. She keeps saying I better not have the baby there... and I just keep telling her she better be up on her birthing skills! Ha ha. Let's hope I can get a lot done. And have none of those painful contractions that make me cry. Not there!!
Gotta run, and pack for that crop! Have a great day!

...And they're off!!
Today was the first day of school for the kids. Colby was the first one to go, getting on the bus at 7:25. He was actually up before I was (as was Will) and they were playing Legos in their room quietly... ahhh, that is so nice!! Colby was pretty excited to start school. He willingly took a bath for me, ate breakfast, and got dressed!! I hope this isn't just a first-day thing. It was SO nice not to have to fight with him in the morning!
While waiting for the bus, of course he had to play on his skateboard. I thought this was the cutest picture!
He didn't want a haircut, but he got one last night anyways!
And this morning, out of the blue, at the bus stop, he said "Mom, why don't you wear lipstick?" And then proceeded to tell me that *everyone* wears lipstick. I asked him if he did, and he was like, "Duh! Just the girls!" It was very cute. I asked him if he thought lipstick was pretty and he just smirked.

Will started middle school! Which means an hour more in the morning- his bus doesn't come until 8:20. But, he also has to get the bus with Sam again... which is a nightmare. But today they got along fine. Again, let's hope it's not just a first-day thing! I really want him to have a great year, and he has an awesome teacher so it just might happen! Yay!!
